Rae-Aila Crumble (ਰਾਏ-ਆਈਲਾ ਕ੍ਰੰਬਲ) is a music critic based in the DMV area whose writing can be found at Pitchfork, Bandcamp Daily, Resident Advisor, Tone Glow, and No Bells. She is also the founder of the radio show Vital Star, which focuses on experimental music and its pedagogies. She’s currently getting her Bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies at Vassar College, and plans on getting her Master’s in Library Sciences to study, connect with, and interrogate histories of Black archival practices. She loves all kinds of art, but experimental music and film will always have her heart.
